Yaesu FT-710 AESS HF/50 MHz Base Portable Transceivers w/SP-40 Speaker Yaesu FT710 AESS Shortwave Radios
New product Yaesu FT-710 AESS HF/50MHz SDR shortwave radio
The magnificent new Yaesu FT-710 AESS HF/50 MHz SDR Transceivers represent the latest in SDR transceiver technology from Yaesu. This transceiver covers the HF Amateur Radio bands, 160 through 6 meters in a compact design that is perfect for portable operations, but equally suitable as a base station in the shack. The FT-710 AESS model includes the Acoustic Enhancement Speaker System (AESS) and features a large 4.3 inch, high-resolution TFT color multi-function touchscreen display which yields intuitive management of system settings and functions. Large control dials and the ergonomically designed layout of the front panel make the FT-710 easy to navigate. The real-time spectrum scope display adopts the FTDX series SDR 3D scope 3DSS (3 Dimensional Spectrum Stream)[RE1] to visualize changes in signal strengths within the bands.
The SDR circuit configuration emphasizes optimal receiving performance. The powerful front-end and a low noise oscillator system enable phenomenal multi-signal receiving characteristics. High-speed DSP provides effective QRM rejection with all interference functions accessible from the DSP dial. The filter display shows pass-band AF spectrum information as well as the operating status of all interference-reducing functions.
The Acoustic Enhancement Speaker System (AESS) produces high-fidelity audio and is generated by digital processing. The Mid-Low frequency enhancement speaker and the side speaker are combined to create the dramatic high-fidelity audio output providing an expansive and clear receive audio, unexpected from a compact transceiver.
The feature set of FT-710 caters to the operator and emphasizes operating efficiency and comfort. The QMB (Quick Memory Bank) Function will store dedicated memory channels that are easily recalled with the touch of a button and the Quick Memory Bank feature stores the frequency, mode, transmit/receive settings, filters and other parameters. Up to 10 memory channels are available. Preset mode functions, most suitable for FT8 operation, are available with up to five preset parameters. The large VMI LED indicators (VFO Mode Indicators) are strategically placed on the left and righthand sides of the VFO dial which displays the current operating mode (VFO-A, VFO-B, memory mode and clarifier/split operation).
A built-in high-speed automatic antenna tuner with a large, 100 channel memory is included and support for the connection of an FC-40 Auto Antenna Tuner is supplied on the back panel. An SD memory card slot is provided to record and save transceiver settings, memory contents and screen capture images and the SD card is also used to update the transceiver firmware. Equipped with two USB ports on the rear panel, the USB-A port is used for operating the transceiver and text input with a connected keyboard (not included). The USB-B port supports CAT (3-system) operation and audio input/output and TX control.
Other beneficial features include CW operation with CW zero-in display, CW Auto zero-in, CW Reverse, CW Keying Signal Form Shaping and Contest Memory Keyer, 3-Stage Parametric Equalizer, IPO (Intercept Point Optimization), AGC (Automatic Gain Control), Band Stack Function, ATAS (Active Tuning Antenna System) capable, CW Operation with the FH-2 Remote Control Keypad (not included). A DVI-D connector is available on the rear panel to allow for the connection of a user-supplied, external high-resolution monitor to project detailed band conditions and filter settings. Remote Operation will be possible with the addition of the Network Remote Control System (sold separately, not yet available)
